Music Maternity Cover job summary

TEACHER OF MUSIC
THE VALE ACADEMY, BRIGG

Salary: MPR / UPR

Hours: Part Time 26 hours per week (4 days) / Temporary to cover maternity leave

The Vale Academy is looking to appoint a part-time Teacher of Music to join our academy in January 2021 to cover maternity leave.

Your new school

The Vale is a successful and high-achieving 11-18 academy which has an excellent reputation and an established trend of high student outcomes, which are consistently above those achieved nationally. Indeed, 2018 outcomes placed the academy in the top 5% of schools in England for overall progress and its attainment at 4+ and 5+ in English and Maths was the highest in the area. This high achievement has also been sustained in 2019 and through centre assessed grades in 2020.

The academy is situated in Brigg, North Lincolnshire and serves a largely rural community. Brigg itself is a historic market town on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Many of our students travel a considerable distance to school.

In January 2017, the academy moved into a new building which provides state of the art facilities and an outstanding learning environment for both students and staff. The Vale also offers an extensive and varied programme of extra-curricular activities to support a rich and rounded education, both within and beyond the classroom, and has a particular specialism in music.

Your new team

You will be joining an ambitious, committed and hardworking team who are passionate about the difference we can make to our young people, staff, families and the wider community.

Why join our academy?

At The Vale, we value the continuous professional development of all our employees and recognise that our staff and students are most successful when they feel happy, valued, challenged and supported to achieve their very best. We have a staff rewards budget and socialise both as subject teams and as a whole staff. We also have access to a staff benefits scheme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful academy within a high-performing multi academy trust with exciting career prospects for successful applicants.
