Music Teacher job summary
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Music Teacher to lead and coordinate the delivery of music for children of all ages across the seven schools in the Trust. The successful candidate will be a qualified primary school teacher (QTS) with strong subject knowledge of music, including significant musicians, and the ability to apply a range of musical instruments and techniques to a high standard.
Working alongside the Head of Curriculum and other the Music Teachers in the Trust, you will teach whole class music lessons as well as work with groups of children to support the musical opportunities in the wider curriculum. You will work as part of the wider creative arts team supporting the delivery of both the music lessons, the school choirs and the projects where the creative arts come together to allow children to achieve highly.
There are a number of opportunities for children to perform throughout the year. For example, the Christmas plays, the drama performances at local theatres, the summer picnic concerts as well as a choir residential to London.
There will also be occasions where you may be required to cover classes within the Trust and as a primary teacher you will be required to be flexible and adaptive to the daily requires of the school although typically your days will be filled with teaching music. Our teachers all deliver extra-curricular activities, and you will be involved in the delivery of the music-based provision.
We provide all children with their own digital device, and they use a learning platform built in Microsoft365 and Teams to access their learning resources and support them in their learning. All teachers have a Microsoft Surface device and will plan and assign activities online. Additionally, we have TV studios where children can both film and record their performances.
As a Trust, we also provide a music service that offers individual lessons for children. You will work closely with other Trust Music Teachers to complement their provision and create opportunities to develop and showcase pupils’ work both within the Trust and beyond.

Hours and Salary
- National Teacher Pay Scale
- Core hours of 8am – 5pm x 5 days a week
- 40 weeks per year (term time + 10 days)
