Music Teacher (Part Time Maternity Cover) job summary
We are seeking to appoint, commencing September 2020, a part time (0.6) Music Teacher (maternity cover) who would enjoy working with highly motivated, intellectually curious students. The Music Department is a busy, energetic and friendly department that has a long tradition of musical excellence, both in and out of the classroom.
We are able to offer the support required for a newly qualified teacher who is eager to contribute and make a difference to students that are conscientious and enthusiastic. Equally, we would welcome applications from music teachers with more experience, who could potentially share some of the responsibilities associated with the Assistant Head of Music role.
The Music Department works as a close-knit group, sharing resources and strategies across the year groups taught at the school. As you would expect, Music is a popular option at GCSE and A Level.
Commitment to safeguarding
The Latymer School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory ‘Enhanced with a Barred List Check’ through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The Latymer School is a high achieving, but caring grammar school in North London. Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere and the level of participation in extra-curricular activities. Pupils at the school recently described the school as one “family” and a “real community”. We are very proud of our school and believe it is a place where you can really teach and develop.
If you would like to work in a friendly environment, principally with Key Stage 3 pupils, with the possibility of some GCSE Music teaching, and the opportunity of significant involvement in extra-curricular music, then we would like to hear from you.
