Nursery Assistant (Part Time) job summary

If so, why not consider joining us, as we are looking for a Nursery Assistant to join the team at our ‘Little Gems Nursery’. The successful person will have a minimum Level 2 qualification and be passionate about providing a high level of childcare for children aged 6 months – 3 years. The Little Gems Nursery is open from 7.45am to 5.45pm, weekdays during term-time, and you will be required to work within these hours. Some flexibility is also required to cover for additional hours in the event of staff absence. As part of an experienced team you will be involved with the continuing growth and development of the pre-school nursery under the guidance of the Nursery Manager.

The staff, Governors and children are all extremely friendly and supportive. The school offers great opportunities for staff development and is on an exciting journey towards excellence.

We are looking for a Nursery Assistant who has:

• A proven record of caring for young children
• A commitment to make learning fun and exciting
• An ability to build positive working relationships
• A sense of humour and can work as part of a team
• The ability to stay calm under pressure

The hours for the position are negotiable term-time + 1 weeks. The salary for this term-time post is APT&C points 2 – 5 plus fringe depending on experience and paid pro-rata based on the hours worked. (full-time salary range is £23,656 pa to £ 24,790 pa + £1013 London Fringe pa).

Applicants should be educated to post 16 level, have a minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification or above and have a high degree of common sense. Experience of working with children and the willingness to undertake suitable training is essential.
