What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our Nursery class.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the nursery class, key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering an engaging and age-appropriate curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and our school’s nursery curriculum plan.
- Monitoring, assessing and reporting on pupils’ progress and attainment.
- Leading and supporting nursery staff in the delivery of high-quality learning experiences.
- Organising and managing the nursery learning environment to ensure it is stimulating, safe and inclusive.
- Acting as the main point of contact for parents, including leading parent meetings and providing regular updates on children's development.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of the EYFS curriculum, a strong track record of delivering whole-class carpet sessions and early years teaching and proven ability to plan, prepare, assess and monitor learning effectively.
This position is particularly suitable for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or a Senior Early Years Practitioner (EYP) who has experience leading learning and is ready to take on the added responsibility of full class leadership, including curriculum planning and assessment.

The Meadows Primary Academy (formerly Blurton Primary School), situated in Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent, joined the Shaw Education Trust family on 1st January 2020.
