About us
Unity Community Primary is a two-form entry primary school serving a richly diverse community in Cheetham, North Manchester. Unity is part of the multi-academy trust Big Life Schools which shares the vision and values of the Big Life group.

What you’ll be doing
As the Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
This is a unique opportunity to shape early years provision within a school community, working closely with – and supported by – our experienced Head of Early Years.
This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to early childhood education, as well as the ability to effectively manage staff and communicate with parents.
What we need from you
- To take overall responsibility for the daily operation of the nursery, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding, and policies
- To lead, motivate and inspire a dedicated Nursery team
- To ensure all children are safe and receive rich, engaging play and learning experiences linked to our Early Years Curriculum
- To maintain high standards of safeguarding, child protection, and welfare
- To oversee health and safety procedures including risk assessments, allergy management, and medication processes
- To prepare for and lead the team through regulatory inspections, implementing any recommendations
- To induct, mentor and supervise staff, identifying training needs and fostering strong teamwork
- To work collaboratively with the Head of Early Years to continually develop and enhance provision
- To build positive, professional relationships with parents and carers
- To support occupancy, community engagement and nursery sustainability through effective budget management
- To be positive, resilient, flexible, and work well in our happy team.
