Nursery School Teacher job summary

Bloomsbury Nursery School and Goodway Nursery School are Local Authority Maintained Nursery Schools, committed to providing exceptional care and high-quality early education for children aged two to four years.

Our schools formally federated in September 2024 and share an Executive Headteacher and Governing Board. Working together enables us to share expertise, strengthen practice and continually develop the quality of education and experiences we provide for our children and families. This position will include working across both nursery schools.

Our nursery schools are forward-thinking and ambitious, with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion and ensuring every child has the very best start to their education. We are looking for a passionate and reflective teacher who shares our vision and values and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for every child.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Is an experienced and skilled EYFS teacher with a secure understanding of the learning and development requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Is caring, approachable and committed to working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
  • Embraces and actively promotes the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children, families and the wider community.
  • Has high expectations for all children and for their own professional practice.
  • Demonstrates a positive, reflective and proactive approach to challenge, development and change.
  • Is committed to child-centred teaching and learning, recognising and responding to the individual strengths, interests and needs of every child.

Bloomsbury is a Local Authority Maintained Nursery School, situated in the Nechells, within the Ladywood District of the City.

Bloomsbury Nursery School relocated to its current site in 1969; however the school has a history in the community for over 90 years. We value our long history whilst being excited about our future. There are 96 FTE students, most of who attend part time for 15 hours per week, with a team of 24 teaching and support staff.

We would like someone who will take care of our building and grounds, to ensure they are safe and well cared for, for our team, our children and our families.
