What skills and experience we're looking for
Birches First School is a popular one form entry first school with a 39 place Nursery. We are seeking to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic, experienced, committed and highly motivated Nursery Teacher with a passion for Early Years to join our strong and dedicated EYFS team on a Part Time basis starting September 2024.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an exceptional EYFS Teacher with drive and aspiration
- Is able to inspire and motivate our youngest children to achieve their full potential
- has good IT skills –the need to provide remote/virtual teaching
- Is committed to setting high standards
- Has a proven track record of raising pupil outcomes as a teacher
- Has enthusiasm, integrity and presence as well as excellent communication and organisational skills
- Actively has safeguarding and the wellbeing of children as central to all developments and actions
- Demonstrates an good understanding of EYFS curriculum design and reform, and how this can successfully be implemented within the school
- Is committed to working closely with Governors, parents and the wider community
- Will champion a sense of pride in our community

Commitment to safeguarding
Posts involving direct contact with children are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. However, amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected'. These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
Shortlisted candidates will need to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered, prior to the interview. You may be asked for information about your criminal history during recruitment.
