What skills and experience we're looking for

Garfield Primary School is looking for a part-time Teaching Assistant & Playleader to join our happy and hardworking Early Years Team.

The role will be based in our Nursery, working with individuals or small groups of children as well as lunchtime supervision. You should be creative and caring with a commitment to quality educational provision and the ability to work in partnership with the class teacher. You should have high expectations for all children, motivating and engaging them in the learning process and be prepared to make a valuable contribution to our school with a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life.

A full and relevant Early Years Qualification & a good standard of English & Maths are essential along with enthusiasm and excellent communication skills. There will be plenty of opportunity for professional development and the chance to build a wide range of skills around support for children’s learning and their all-round development.

The role is for 3 days/week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday for this academic year) from 8.15am-3.45pm with half an hour for lunch. The contract is term time only including INSET days (39 weeks). The actual pro-rated salary will be £14,882 (pay award pending).
