Nursery Teaching Assistant job summary
Are you looking for your next challenge?
Are you enthusiastic, nurturing and passionate about Early Years Education? Do you believe in creating exciting, playful and inspiring learning experiences that give every child the very best start in life?
Then join us at Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre, where we believe anything is possible!
The Governing Board of Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre seeks to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our Nursery team, working daily from 8.45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reflective practitioner who is passionate about supporting young children as they take their first steps on their educational journey. The successful candidate will understand the importance of creating a warm, welcoming and stimulating nursery environment where children feel safe, happy, valued and excited to learn.
We welcome applications from practitioners with experience of working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage. A sound understanding of early childhood development, the importance of learning through play and the ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with young children are essential for this role.
Candidates will be confident, creative and enthusiastic teaching assistants who demonstrate high expectations, a flexible and positive approach and a commitment to providing the highest-quality early learning experiences. They will recognise that every child is unique and will be passionate about supporting children's communication, language, independence, curiosity and social and emotional development.
Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre is a place that promotes a genuine love of learning from the very beginning. We want our youngest children to be excited about coming to nursery, eager to explore their surroundings, confident in expressing themselves and enthusiastic about discovering the world around them.
We believe that learning in the Early Years should be playful, purposeful and irresistible. Our nursery provides a rich and stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to investigate, imagine, create and develop the foundations for lifelong learning. We work closely as colleagues to continually develop and enhance what is unique about what we do and how we do it. Our school vision is built on the principle that anything is possible.
We are a values-based school, and the successful candidate will have the interpersonal skills to model our school's core values within a framework in which everyone is ambitious, innovative and inclusive.

We are extremely well-resourced and keep children at the centre of everything we do. Our nursery offers a nurturing, stimulating and inspiring environment where children are encouraged to learn through exploration, meaningful interactions and carefully planned play experiences.
Our children are curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn. We provide a rich and ambitious Early Years curriculum that celebrates childhood, encourages independence and supports every child to develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
We only recruit people who are passionate about making a difference to children's lives; people who are highly reflective, committed to their own professional development and continually challenge themselves to improve.
Our working relationships are warm, supportive and collaborative, with a relaxed and informal atmosphere built on mutual respect and shared ambition. People love working here; we are welcoming, positive, caring and forward-looking. We have very high expectations of both children and adults.

Contribute to an inclusive nursery environment where every child feels valued, respected and able to flourish.
Receive an excellent professional development and training package, including both internal and external support.
Be part of an ambitious, innovative and inclusive school community that is continually striving to provide the very best educational experiences for every child.
We can offer you:
An excellent professional development programme delivered by highly experienced colleagues.
Wonderful, enthusiastic and well-behaved children who are extremely keen to explore, discover and learn.
High adult-to-child ratios, enabling meaningful interactions and personalised support for every child.
Fantastic opportunities for career development and progression.
