Nursery Wraparound Care Assistant job summary

St Paul’s Church of England School and Nursery are seeking a part-time Nursery Wraparound Care Assistant. The school has a superb team, an attractive learning environment and fabulous children. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive both emotionally and academically.

The school prides itself on creating an environment where every child feels valued. Classrooms and outdoor learning spaces are designed to spark curiosity, creativity and confidence, giving children the freedom to explore their interests while receiving the structure and guidance they need.

We are looking for a fun, caring and friendly individual to join our small team supporting our after-nursery provision for children aged 3-4 years. You will help provide a range of engaging, age-appropriate activities and ensure that the club promotes a culture of play where all children feel safe, respected, valued and nurtured.

The role involves supporting the Nursery Wraparound Care Supervisor with the day-to-day running of the provision, helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for our youngest children.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Under the direction of the Nursery Wraparound Care Supervisor, help deliver a range of play-based and creative activities suitable for nursery-aged children attending the club.
  • Support a safe, caring and inclusive environment where children can explore, play and develop confidently.
  • Adhere to Ofsted and Early Years guidelines, ensuring all children are respected, valued and well supported.
  • Assist with the preparation of simple snacks while following appropriate health and safety procedures.
  • Work as part of the after-nursery team and be flexible and supportive where required.
  • Follow the school’s safeguarding procedures and strict code of confidentiality at all times.
  • Support the Christian ethos of the school in daily interactions and activities.
  • Help with the setting up and clearing away of furniture and resources for the club.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to help create a warm, playful and nurturing environment at the end of their nursery day.

Hours will be from 7:30am to 8:30am, and 3:30pm to 6pm. The role will be for 17.5 hours weekly term-time only. We are looking for someone with a patient, empathetic and proactive approach and is reliable, flexible and wanting to work as part of a brilliant team.

If you enjoy working with children and feel you could be a valuable member of our team, please look through our Nursery Wraparound Care Assistant job description.

Visits to the school are warmly welcome. To arrange a visit or to find out more about the role, please contact our school office.
