What skills and experience we're looking for

Experience and knowledge

  • Experience working with children aged 2–5
  • Experience planning, delivering, observing, assessing and tracking children’s development
  • Experience working with parents and families
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Understanding of inclusion, safeguarding and responsive care

Skills and abilities

  • Ability to support and develop children’s learning across all areas of the EYFS
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, parents and colleagues
  • Ability to plan, assess and create a safe, engaging and stimulating environment
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills

Desirable experience and skills

  • Experience working in a nursery school or school-based setting
  • Knowledge of early identification of SEND
  • Training in SEN, inclusion or trauma-informed practice
  • Ability to contribute to whole-setting development
