Nurture Assistant job summary
We are looking for a Nurture Assistant to join the team here at Hillside working Monday to Friday 8.45am-11.25am and 12.10pm - 3.00pm.
This position would suit an HLTA or teaching assistant with level 3 NVQ and a proven track record of exceptional practice, who is able to work with vulnerable pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). It would suit someone who is passionate about making a real difference to children’s life chances and supporting them in achieving their potential in essential life skills.
This role focuses on reducing barriers to learning and promoting inclusion by helping children develop the skills they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom
The successful candidate will plan, deliver and evaluate individual and group pastoral support programmes. Their work will enable the children to express their emotions safely and to develop their ability to think through situations. They will work alongside the school's SENDCo.

The ability to respond effectively to support a wide range of pastoral, behavioural and learning needs
A team-player with presence, resilience and a commitment to inclusion
A colleague with experience of working successfully with primary aged children
A member of the team who is passionate about positively changing the lives of children/students
Someone who is a trained Emotional Literacy Support Assistant, or Nurture (or willing to undertake training that would be offered upon employment)
A positive, open-minded professional actively supportive of the ethos, vision and values of the school
