We are seeking to appoint a Nurture Practitioner, with a proven track record of exceptional practice in the classroom or with small groups of children, who is able to work with vulnerable pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The aim of the Nurture Provision is to create a safe, supportive, and predictable environment that addresses SEMH needs, fostering secure attachments and enabling children to overcome barriers to learning and thrive.
The successful candidate will teach, monitor and review the progress of small groups of Year 7 and 8 pupils in the Nurture Provision Area, as well as supporting them in accessing the full curriculum offer within the school. They will teach from a planned curriculum, adapting this for pupils, while striving to ensure that the pupils are supported to be able to work in larger group classes in the main school.
The Nurture Provision will follow the six principles of nurture:
That children’s learning is understood developmentally

Led by the Assistant Headteacher of Inclusion, the Nurture Practitioner will deliver consistently high-quality lessons and nurture experiences, developing a safe and inspiring learning environment where all children achieve their potential.

Develop and deliver an appropriate, broad, balanced, relevant, adapted and challenging curriculum to all pupils appropriate to their needs.
Plan and deliver engaging and motivating experiences relevant to pupils in the nurture provision.
Provide support for nurture pupils through a carefully structured timetable that balances learning, affection, and structure within a caring home-like atmosphere.
Regularly review progress and monitor the integration of all nurture group pupils within the mainstream classrooms with the support of the Leadership team.
Establish secure and trusting relationships with pupils to facilitate their learning and development.
