What skills and experience we're looking for

About the role: You will assist the Office Manager with the Academy wide administration by helping in day to day administration and carrying out any delegated tasks. You will act as the first point of reference for the Academy’s reception area, being responsible to deliver a high customer service to visitors and dealing with all queries from the public.

About the Person: We are looking for someone to join our Office Team as an Office Administrator & Receptionist.

You will need to have a good education to CSE/O/GCSE level or equivalent, including English.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will need to be able to work under pressure, have excellent communications skills, and be computer literate, ensuring the highest standards are adhered to.

We are seeking to appoint committed and hardworking staff, who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our children and young people.

You will be enthusiastic about working within a school environment and supporting the needs of the Academy.

About The Elms Academy: The Elms Academy is a very diverse and vibrant community situated on Clapham Common. In 2022 our A level results were ranked the first in United Learning Academies. A tremendous 79% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths, with 60% achieving grade 5 or above in the two subjects. At the higher levels, nearly 30% (actual figure is 28%) of all students achieved a grade 7 or above in English and Maths. Our progress 8 score was +0.73 which put us at the top of the Lambeth borough.

These results are due to the unique culture and community that has developed at The Elms Academy. The highest expectations of students and real academic rigour are combined with a strong focus on developing the whole child. There is a culture in which every single child matters, and must be supported to achieve their full potential. Unlike local selective schools, our pupils are from a variety of backgrounds and are mixed gender, meaning that Grammar Stream pupils will learn how to socialise and communicate effectively with others. 41% of our students are pupil premium (nearly twice the national average) and so we are working to help some of the UK's most disadvantaged students achieve the best GCSE results possible and thus change lives. All staff at the academy are driven by a strong mission to provide educational excellence to students with the least privilege.
