Office Manager job summary
We are looking for an Office Manager with additional responsibilities for attendance.
About the role:
We require an Office Manager to line manage the office team and provide administrative support to the whole academy alongside responsibilities relating to attendance across the academy.
Contracted hours per week: 37.5. Contracted weeks per year: 40
You will support the Executive principal in all administrative matters within the management of the Academy. Primary responsibility for all aspects of management of the office, pupil administration process/policy. You will also have oversight and management of Arbor and other academy data systems to provide technical direction, advice and leadership for attendance related services.
Your role will be vital and varied. You will be responsible for the management, daily operation and support of the main Academy office and all its functions to provide a comprehensive administrative and data support. Excellent IT skills are essential, and candidates will need to have the ability to find solutions to problems, whilst working under pressure. Previous experience of working in a school and as a line manager is required.
The successful candidate will be:
- proactive and positive with a clear capacity and desire to work well with colleagues using established systems and processes
- independent and demonstrate initiative as required
- able to provide confidential, efficient and effective administration support for the Academy
- a highly skilled administrator with a strong working knowledge of standard IT packages
- able to prioritise and manage own workload and co-ordinate the work of others to appropriate deadlines
- an excellent communicator with and excellent listening skills
- able to provide administrative support for Senior Leadership
- a line manager to the academy administration team
- able to apply Academy safeguarding policies and protocols
This is an integral role to the smooth running of our academy which requires a pro-active, dynamic and adaptable applicant.

The Dogsthorpe Junior Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), is a junior academy situated in a small community in the north of Peterborough. It is led by the Principal, Julie Cranke, who aims to ensure that it delivers an exciting, innovative and creative curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils. All staff work hard to ensure that every pupil is supported and nurtured, helping them to develop the confidence and skills needed for the years ahead. In addition to the formal curriculum, pupils are also provided with a range of opportunities to follow their own interests and carry out individualised learning programmes.
