What skills and experience we're looking for
We are a small school with a big heart, set in the lovely village of Lidlington. At Thomas Johnson, we believe schools should be places where children feel happy, safe, inspired and excited to learn – and where staff feel valued, supported and proud to work.
We are excited to offer a very unique opportunity for a teacher to join our team on a one day per week contract (fixed term for one year), teaching within Key Stage 1.
This role may be perfect if you are:
- Looking to keep your hand in teaching
- Currently working part-time and seeking an additional day
- Considering a return to the classroom
- Or simply looking for a flexible opportunity within a supportive school
We are not looking for someone who is perfect. We are looking for someone who cares. Someone who believes that every child matters, every day. Someone who can bring energy, warmth and high expectations to the classroom and make learning engaging and meaningful.
What the school offers its staff
At Thomas Johnson, you will find a team that works hard, laughs a lot, supports each other and always puts children at the centre of every decision. As a village school, community matters here. You will quickly get to know the children, families and staff, and become a valued part of our school.
We understand that teaching is both rewarding and demanding, so we are committed to supporting our staff and ensuring that this role is manageable, enjoyable and professionally fulfilling.
If you are the kind of teacher who believes that:
- Children should feel excited about coming to school
- Learning should be full of challenge, curiosity and discovery
- Every child deserves an adult who believes in them
- Schools should be full of kindness, laughter and high expectations
…then you will fit right in here.
The best way to understand our school is to come and see it for yourself. You are very warmly invited to visit, look around, and get a feel for what makes Thomas Johnson such a special place to be.
