What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Lead to provide the overall strategic and operational leadership and management for all aspects of health and safety, ICT, premises, catering contracts, administration and operations support in our school. This role will suit someone with a proactive attitude who is an excellent people and project manager.
You will be working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Headteacher of the school. The role will have the responsibility to refine and develop high-quality systems and services to provide an excellent learning experience and workplace.
This is a full-time role for 52 weeks per year. Flexible working requests will be considered, including term time with only some school holiday working. Working hours will be agreed with the Headteacher, as we will require some early starts/late finishes to cover the needs of the role.
If you share our vision based on the unshakeable belief that children learn through all aspects of their daily lives and that their values and knowledge, experiences and habits are as important as their academic qualifications, we would be delighted to hear from you.
What the school offers its staff
We work hard to make all staff feel like they belong and can flourish. We create a bespoke induction plan for all new staff, shaped with their input and based on their experience, strengths and aims. All teachers get an additional hour every fortnight of protected PPA, totalling 6 hours for a full-time teacher. We have a culture of 1% improvements, which means no hour-long lesson observations and time wasted producing unnecessary paperwork. All staff love our two-week October half-term and have access to free gym use (with shower facilities), ample on-site parking, an up-to-date 2-in-1 laptop (tablet with pen and laptop all in one), a full Microsoft Office package and a vibrant and social staff body.
Further details about the role
If you would like an informal phone call or a visit to the school with the Headteacher, we welcome and value this. To arrange, please contact head@esherhigh.surrey.sch.uk. Site visits with the Headteacher are welcome on 15, 22 and 29 August 2024 as well as an informal telephone/Teams call with the Headteacher.
Commitment to safeguarding
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Please refer to the school website for further information regarding our Child Protection & Safeguarding policy. Any successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service.
