We are seeking a passionate and innovative Outdoor Learning Teacher to join our Academy,delivering an engaging, high-quality learning experiences beyond the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils who may have faced barriers in traditional education, using the outdoors as a powerful tool to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and foster resilience.

The successful candidate will deliver an ambitious, inclusive outdoor curriculum that supports both academic progress and personal development. Working across varied environments, including off-site settings, you will create safe, dynamic learning opportunities that promote independence, teamwork, and environmental awareness, ensuring every pupil benefits from a truly holistic educational experience.

Wave are an established and successful Multi Academy Trust, comprising of Alternative Provision Academies (APAs), Medical Academies (including Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s child and adolescent mental health unit ‘Sowenna’) and a Special Academy.

We provide education for vulnerable pupils aged 4 – 19 across Devon and Cornwall. Stansfield Academy is an Alternative Provision Academy providing full time education for children from 4-16 years of age. We cover Central Devon including Exeter, East Devon and Mid Devon and work closely with Devon County Council to ensure a swift transition both into and out of the Academy to minimise the impact of any transition on the learning of those young people.
