Contract term: Maternity Cover

Contract type: 37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year (term time, plus 5 training days & further 10 days to be mutually agreed and worked through the holidays)

Location: Cedars Upper School, Leighton Buzzard

Salary: L6, £30,825-£33,945 pro rata

We have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual to join our friendly school as the PA to Head Teacher, Heads of School and Clerk to the Governing Body. The role of the PA is to support the Head Teacher to ensure that the strategic, operational planning and the administration of the School run smoothly. You will also be required to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Governors providing confidential secretarial and administrative support.

As PA to the Head Teacher, you will:

  • Be a key point of contact between the Head Teacher and staff, students and the public, acting as the gatekeeper and prioritising the Head Teacher’s time.
  • Manage the Head Teacher’s diary and schedule ensuring that they are fully prepared for all meetings and events.
  • Work together with key staff throughout the school to ensure that the Head Teacher is properly informed and involved in key decision making through organising subset meetings between the Head Teacher and department heads.
  • Provide support and all necessary documentation in relation to the Governing Body including preparation for, minuting and clerking of Governing Body meetings.

You will be called upon to use your judgement and initiative and must be ableto remain calm and controlled under the pressures of working in a verydemanding and constantly changing environment. The post requires a willingness toundertake training if required; it is essential that, as the first point of contactfor the Headteacher, you have a manner which inspires confidence.
