We have a number of roles available within school and are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and caring Grade 1 teaching assistants to fill these roles.

Role 1 and 2 are 2 different children, both with EHCPs. They are currently classroom based but, at times, require an adapted curriculum and provision to best support their needs. As a result, there will be occasions where work will be completed outside of class, making best us of our outdoor spaces and/or personalised activities in a quiet space.

Due to the nature of all roles, experience of special educational needs would be an advantage however this is also an exciting opportunity for anyone with a passion and natural aptitude for support children with additional needs as any necessary training will be provided for the successful candidates.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A passion for working with children with SEND.
  • Willingness to encourage children to reach their full potential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and the ability to use this knowledge to support a child/children.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with children.
  • Resilient and nurturing personality.
  • The best interests of children at the centre of their practice.
  • Is able to think on their feet.
  • Experience of leading interventions to support children.
  • Can develop positive relationships with staff and parents.
  • Willingness to develop their understand of special needs and strategies to support children.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting individual and/or groups of pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work with a named child at key points to maximise progress for the pupil.
  • Working with groups of pupils as required.
  • Understand My Plan targets and long-term outcomes for a group of children and/or your name child.
  • Take an active role in the assess, plan, do, review cycle.
  • Support at playtimes and lunchtimes during unstructured play.
  • Liaising with SENCO and outside agencies.
