Hours: 11 hours per week (Thursday 12:00pm to 4:00pm and Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm - term time only)

We are looking to appoint a part-time administrative assistant for our school office. Gayton Primary is a happy, nurturing and welcoming school and we pride ourselves on the friendly 'family feel'. The role will primarily involve general administration tasks, reception cover, pupil attendance, updating and maintaining school records. You will also act as the first point of contact for parents, staff and visitors, handle phone calls, emails and face-to-face enquiries in a professional, welcoming manner.

Key personal qualities we're looking for:

  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative within this role and the capability to organise and manage priorities
  • Be a proven administrator/clerical assistant with experience of an office or school environment
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, in writing and verbally
  • Be able to deal with parents in a calm and positive manner at all times
  • Be able to work and communicate effectively with all children, staff, parents and visitors
