Part Time Chaplaincy Support job summary

The purpose of this role is to support the Chaplain to encourage and empower students, staff and the wider community in meeting the challenge of the Gospel.

Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Academies Trust is a large new Catholic Multi Academy Trust situated in the northern half of the Catholic Diocese of Northampton formed by the merger of three former Catholic Trusts in February 2020. The Trust currently leads and manages ten Catholic primary schools located across the geographical area of Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire and, two Catholic secondary schools – St Thomas Becket in Northampton and St Thomas More in Bedford

We are seeking a trainee Chaplain to join our vibrant secondary Catholic school community. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who feels called to support the spiritual and pastoral life of young people, and who is looking to develop their skills and experience in school chaplaincy.

This is a developmental role, and full training and ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) will be provided. You will work alongside our experienced Chaplain and wider chaplaincy team, contributing to the Catholic life of the school through prayer, liturgy, pastoral support and outreach, while developing your own knowledge and confidence in this unique ministry role.

The suitable candidate will be a practising Catholic with a passion for youth ministry, experience in working with young people in a faith environment, will be authentic in their faith and, using imagination, enthusiasm and knowledge, will inspire our young people and our staff. There is also the opportunity for subsidised accommodation with Northampton diocese for the right candidate.
