Part-Time KS3 Teacher of Religious Studies job summary

Icknield High School is a highly successful multi-cultural 11-16 Academy, situated on the northern side of town. We are justifiably proud of our excellent reputation and believe that we offer both students and staff a caring environment in which they can succeed.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and motivated Religious Studies Teacher to join our team.

Our well-developed Religious Studies curriculum enthuses students to engage in significant human questions which religion and diverse worldviews address. During KS3 the curriculum looks at the six major religions as well as worldviews. At KS4 students study Islam and Christianity through the Edexcel syllabus. Subject enrichment has recently involved visits to Cambridge Central Mosque and St Albans Cathedral, as well as a lunchtime extra-curricular club.

The successful candidate will have a passion for Religious Studies, be able to display and promote excellence in teaching and learning, and have the potential to make a real difference to the outcomes of our students. A willingness to teach a second humanities subject at KS3 would be beneficial.

We would welcome enquiries requesting further information and/or visits to the school. Please contact Mrs Tina Freeman, PA to the head teacher, telephone 01582 576561 or e-mail tfreeman@icknield.beds.sch.uk. Alternatively, please visit our web site www.icknield.beds.sch.uk

If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience for the above position and are interested in joining our staff team, please apply via the Vacancies page on the schools website https://www.icknield.beds.sch.uk/Vacancies/ or directly via My New Term.

Closing date: 8 January 2025 at 12 noon. We do reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
