Part Time Librarian job summary

The Role

Fixed Term Contract / Maternity Cover - Librarian Term-time only + Inset Days, Thursday & Friday 8am to 4.30pm

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and student‑focused Librarian to lead the day‑to‑day running of our school library, and help create a vibrant, inclusive space for our students.

You will be able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues and represent the school with professionalism at all times.

The Ideal Candidate will

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting and empowering young people.

• Have experience working in a library or educational environment (school experience beneficial but not essential).

• Be passionate about reading, literacy, and supporting young people.

• Have strong organisational and communication skills.

• Be confident using library management systems (training can be provided).

• Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with staff and students.

• Bring creativity and initiative to developing the library’s role within the school.
