School Overview:

Hagbourne CE Primary School is based in a small village on the outskirts of Didcot, catering for primary school children.

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for an energetic, organised, motivated individual to work with our class teachers in rolling out the physical education cirriculum as well as run some after school clubs. The ideal candidate would be able to work 15 hours per week, Monday - Thursday between 12.30-16.30, 3 times a week and 1 day a week, 12.30-15.30pm. Listed below are key responsibilities which isn't extensive.

  • Make an impact on the experience young people receive through PE and sport
  • Assess, record, report on progress / attainment of pupils
  • Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Contribute to a full and extensive extracurricular programme
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Manage, coach and officiate sport teams
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures
  • Support class teachers with maintaining good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
  • Organise and manage relevant space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher
  • Supervise a class if the teacher is unavailable
  • Undertake any other relevant duties
