What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will need to be:

  • An excellent primary practitioner with recent experience of teaching and assessment, confident in raising standards and achievement, especially in Key Stage 2
  • Calm and positive in managing pupils’ behaviour, including pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Dedicated to ensuring the progress and well-being of all pupils, of all abilities, with a commitment to high standards, both professionally and personally
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and caring; able to work as part of a strong team and be fully involved in the life of the school
  • Sympathetic to the Christian ethos of our school and be committed to our aims and values
  • Able to lead a curriculum area or contribute to an aspect of the School Action Plan as part of whole school development.
  • Able to form strong links with parents and the community

Braithwaite School is a small, friendly school with a dedicated staff, happy children, supportive parents and a committed Local Governing Body; it is part of the Good Shepherd Trust. We are proud of our distinctively Christian ethos of mutual care and the creative curriculum that nurtures the whole child with a particular emphasis on well-being and outdoor learning. We make use of our unique school grounds and surroundings, extending the learning beyond the classroom, particularly through the use of our Forest Schools area within the spacious school site. Braithwaite CE Primary School wishes to appoint an excellent part time teacher to join our dedicated team, to join our teaching team. For the right candidate, the opportunity to lead a subject area across the school is available. This is a fixed term contract starting in September 2024 until 31st August 2025 due to limited funding.
