What skills and experience we're looking for
We are therefore looking for a Pastoral and Welfare Officer to monitor the safety, welfare and personal development of students in a particular year group (to be decided) Operating as a supporting Designated Safeguarding lead, the role is key in promoting the highest standards of pupil behaviour, attainment and attitudes, this is done by establishing positive working relationships with students and encouraging their participation and engagement. With respect to the year group that you are affiliated to, you will liaise with staff and other external agencies in order to ensure that proactive interventions are implemented that enable students to attend well, behave well and access the wonderful opportunities that a Miltoncross education has to offer. You will work closely with the Head of Year, Attendance staff, tutors and senior leaders to promote and improve attendance and punctuality levels. This will include maintaining regular contact with identified students to support, set, discuss and monitor behaviour targets. Experience of working with children and/or teenagers is essential but full induction and continuous training will be given.
