Salary: Salary FTE £24,027 - £25,992

Pro Rata actual salary £19,944 - £21,575

We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our pastoral team; experience working with secondary-aged children is desired, and the drive to support students both in their learning and their personal development is essential. The successful candidate must be able to manage their time and workload around deadlines and other requirements. The ability to work as part of a team and the confidence to work with students, parents and external agencies is also essential.

Main duties will include but are not limited to

  • To support class teachers by assisting in classroom management and by providing support with behaviour management
  • To support good pastoral and behaviour management practice in the classroom with whole group and 1:1 work.
  • Assist with the administration of medication, storage and reporting procedures across the school.
  • Assist with the delivery of intervention sessions where required.
  • Assist children to deal with behavioural and/or emotional difficulties or particular vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure that all children and young people are treated with dignity and respect, in an environment which reflects the importance of and their right to be treated as valuable worthwhile individuals
  • Support the fulfilment of day pastoral care systems and practice across the school.
  • Undertake activities with either individuals or small groups of children to facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development.
  • Carry out the duties of a classroom assistant as required and directed by the Director of Behaviour.
  • Take every step necessary to ensure that our children and young people are protected from neglect, abuse, and exploitation, assisting in ensuring safeguarding is a key and active part of the ethos at TWA.
  • To assist with developing student information to support staff in planning for individual pupil's needs including risk assessments, pupil profiles etc.
  • To support students in promoting self-care and self-regulation to support their mental health and wellbeing.
  • Support teaching staff and the Director of Behaviour with monitoring student progress towards curriculum targets, attendance, and behaviour.
