Pastoral/Attendance Lead with classroom cover duties. job summary

St Thomas are seeking an enthusiast person to lead and support the school’s work around pupil attendance, pastoral care, wellbeing and behaviour, helping to remove barriers that may prevent pupils from attending regularly and engaging successfully in school.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive positive attendance outcomes by monitoring attendance and punctuality, identifying concerns early, and working closely with pupils, families, and external agencies to improve school attendance.
• Provide pastoral care and wellbeing support through building trusted relationships, delivering interventions, and helping pupils overcome emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.
• Champion safeguarding and pupil welfare by recognising concerns, following safeguarding procedures, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to multi-agency support where needed.
• Deliver high-quality class cover across the primary age range, maintaining positive learning environments, supporting pupil engagement, and ensuring continuity of learning.
• Work collaboratively within the school community to promote inclusion, uphold the Catholic ethos of the school, support pupils' personal development, and contribute to their overall success and wellbeing.
