What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to understand a young

persons’ needs.

  • Have knowledge and experience of pastoral.
  • Have knowledge and experience of safeguarding.
  • Have experience of working with children and young people in Special Educational Needs, ASC and SLCN.
  • Have empathetic expectations of young people, and a commitment to understanding the various challenges which may present barriers to learning.
  • Possess the listening skills to support young people, and their families through understanding their point of view in a non-judgemental approach.
  • Have experience of processes and procedures around related policies, including staff training, assessments and the monitoring of children and young people.
  • Possess the knowledge and experience of working with Social Care, MASH teams, including referral process and procedure.
  • Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, young people, parents and the wider community.
  • Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development.
