About the role

The Pastoral Lead at Heron Hall plays a central role in supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and personal development of pupils. The successful candidate will provide consistent pastoral care and early intervention support within an allocated year group, ensuring that all pupils are able to engage positively in school life. This is a collaborative role, working closely with families, teachers, external agencies and the wider pastoral team to address a wide range of pupil needs and create a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive individual with experience in a pastoral or pupil support role within a secondary school. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of supporting young people facing behavioural, emotional or social challenges, and be confident in working with families, staff and external agencies. Experience with SEND, EAL and additional needs is essential, as is a good understanding of safeguarding, child development and the impact of socio-economic factors. Familiarity with case management, restorative approaches and inclusive pastoral strategies is important. A Level 3 or 4 qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
