Pastoral Leader & Attendance Officer job summary

The Beacon School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Pastoral Lead & Attendance Officer on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role, working 36 hours per week (term time only) where the successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting student wellbeing and promoting excellent attendance across the school.

Your opportunity

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people. As Pastoral Lead & Attendance Officer, you will provide targeted support and guidance to students across two key year groups, helping them overcome social, emotional, behavioural, and safeguarding challenges that may hinder their learning. Working closely with teaching and pastoral teams, you will coordinate interventions and build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them thrive. Your role will be central to fostering a supportive school environment where every student feels seen, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential.

  • Proven experience supporting students to promote positive behaviour for learning
  • Experience supporting students with physical and emotional well-being
  • Background in working within an educational environment
  • Ability to remain calm and confident in emergency or high-pressure situations
  • Sensitive and understanding approach to managing student well-being needs
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain accurate and efficient records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good administrative and organisational abilities
  • Capable of working independently and demonstrating initiative

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Senior Specialist £33,426-£35,000  (dependent on experience) 

Actual Salary: £30,230.87- £31,654.41 (dependent on experience) 

Hours: 36 Hours - 41 weeks per year (Term Time + 2 weeks)

Contract Type: Permanent
