Pastoral Leader job summary

We would like to
appoint a Pastoral Leader working across all year groups from Year 7 to Year
11. The role is to uphold the school’s
standards and expectations within the Behaviour and Attitude strand of school
life. The ideal candidate will be
emotionally intelligent, have excellent interpersonal skills and be an
effective communicator at all levels and particularly confident in addressing
large groups of students. Above all you must be relentlessly passionate about
the development of students and the removal of barriers to allow each
individual to reach their full potential. Experience in the police force/the
military/education or similar may be beneficial. The successful candidate will
be innovative and proactive with the ability to respond to day-to-day behaviour
issues and to remain calm in challenging situations. The ability to forge
excellent relationships whilst holding the line is essential.

We do have high
expectations of staff and students, but we also expect them to be individuals
who demonstrate a strong work ethic and kindness and decency at every
level. This is because we want all
students to make really good progress and leave school with wonderful memories
of their experiences. We want our staff
to enjoy their work and really see the value in what they do. In return we seek every opportunity to
develop staff. The Hayfield School is a
great place to work where all colleagues are supported and valued, parents are
supportive and the pupils are so eager to achieve. We do have a track record of
excellent outcomes but we are not resting on our laurels. Indeed we are embracing a changing
educational landscape.

The school is situated
in Auckley near Robin Hood Airport. It
is a lovely part of Doncaster and really easy to get to and from. Our staff come from as far away as North
Leeds, Sheffield, Scunthorpe and Nottinghamshire. It really is worth the journey.
