Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and families? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Manager and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional who is committed to ensuring every pupil feels safe, supported and able to thrive. Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, school staff, families and external agencies, you will play a pivotal role in promoting wellbeing, safeguarding vulnerable pupils, reducing barriers to learning and fostering positive relationships that enable all children to achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate pastoral support across the school, ensuring pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
- Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), working closely with the DSL to manage safeguarding concerns and referrals.
- Build positive and effective relationships with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to promote pupil wellbeing and achievement.
- Identify and support vulnerable pupils and families, providing early intervention, targeted pastoral support and appropriate signposting to specialist services.
- Manage safeguarding cases, including referrals to Children's Services, Early Help, the Police and other agencies where appropriate.
Pay range:
- SCP 21 - 25 - £32,668.15 - £35,500.21 includes inner London allowance
- FTE - £37,143.00 - £40,363.00 includes inner London allowance
- 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:
- Level 3 qualification in relevant discipline such as Health and Social Care, Childcare and Education etc
- Degree in Social Care or similar relevant discipline
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with pupils and parents/carers
- Ability to hold difficult conversations confidently and effectively
