What skills and experience we're looking for
With specialist skills, training or experience in behaviour management and SEN, we are looking for a Pastoral Officer to join our team in Sunderland.
Our successful candidate will ideally have well established de-escalation strategies and recent experience of working in an SEMH environment. The ability to identify potential barriers to learning and to devise strategies to enable pupils to overcome these barriers is essential along with well-developed emotional intelligence skills and knowledge of systems and processes around safeguarding children and young people and to deliver trauma informed interventions.
Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above or equivalent(Must include English & Maths)
Ability to communicate and operate at a high level of understanding and competence
Able to support the school improvement plan
Well-developed emotional intelligence skills
Knowledge of safeguarding children-systems and procedures
Ability to identify potential barriers to learning and to devise strategies to enable pupils to overcome these barriers
To contribute to the provision of an effective environment for learning
