Pastoral Support Assistant job summary

The main purpose of the role is to

enhance existing pastoral, curriculum enrichment and extra-curricular provision, including developing the offer for parents/carers

provide efficient, responsive and high quality administrative support to the Pastoral Team

The main duties and responsibilities wil be to:

Support for pupils

Provide pastoral support for pupils

Support provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs

Establish positive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model

Supervise pupils at playtimes and lunchtimes

Support for the curriculum

Enhance the curriculum through enrichment activities (eg. food technology, growing vegetables, Eco Schools work)

Supervise pupils on educational visits

Support for the pastoral team

Work with the pastoral team, and be accountable to the Inclusion Lead (Deputy Headteacher)

Clerical/admin support eg. Making phone calls, dealing with correspondence, photocopying, preparing resources, sending attendance letters

Carry out home visits (with a member of the leadership team)
