Pastoral Support Coordinator (Inspire) job summary

We are looking for a skilled, empathetic, and proactive Pastoral Support Coordinator to support students experiencing social, emotional, and regulation barriers to join our experienced and committed Inspire team.

This role is central to helping young people who may struggle in mainstream classes due to emotional dysregulation, anxiety, trauma responses, or behavioural challenges. You will provide targeted pastoral support, promote self-regulation strategies, and help students develop the skills needed to engage positively with learning and relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Provide consistent pastoral and emotional support to students with SEMH and regulation needs

Support students to develop emotional literacy, coping, and self-regulation skills

Use trauma-informed and relational approaches to build trust and safety

Coordinate individual support plans and targeted interventions

Support behaviour through restorative and de-escalation strategies

Identify triggers and barriers to learning, implementing supportive responses

Promote inclusive classroom strategies

Liaise with families and external professionals to ensure holistic support

Monitor wellbeing, engagement, and attendance

Contribute to safeguarding and early help processes
