Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.
At Ormiston Forge Academy we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, and highly visible Pastoral Support Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, playing a key role in promoting positive behaviour, attendance, and student wellbeing.
As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will be at the heart of our academy community, supporting students to be ready to learn and succeed. You will support attendance and punctuality, provide first-line pastoral care, and build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. The role includes supporting behaviour management, responding to incidents, producing reports, and contributing to safeguarding, interventions, and wellbeing initiatives.
It is essential you have achieved a minimum of GCSE Grade A to C (or equivalent) passes in maths and English. If you do not currently hold a First Aid qualification, first aid training will need to be undertaken as part of the role.
We are seeking someone who is approachable, resilient, and committed to high standards of behaviour and student welfare. You should have:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience of working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting (desirable).
- The ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
- A passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
At Ormiston Forge Academy, education is about more than just academics—it’s about creating a sense of belonging and fostering a strong, supportive community. We live by the values of Resilience, Aspiration, and Respect. These principles guide our efforts to nurture well-rounded students who are prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We’re more than just a school—we’re a family.
