Pastoral Support Officer - Maternity Cover job summary
The successful candidate needs to have experience in working in a school with children with many differing needs. They need to be patient and a good listener and want to make a difference to the life chances of all children.
The successful candidate must:-
- be proactive, solution-focussed and organised
- be able to display integrity and resilience and have good communication skills with ability to relate to pupils, teachers, parents/carers and other professionals
The main responsibilities of the role will include:-
- To work with individual and small groups of pupils
- To assist in the support and inclusion with Additional Educational and Emotional Needs within the Academy
- To work with individual children and families when home, school or emotional concerns, are affecting or likely to affect the child's attendance, behaviour or engagement
- To aid children to become independent, co-operative and collaborative learners both in groups and independently
- To assist in ensuring that attendance registers are kept up-to-date and to monitor children's attendance on a daily, weekly, termly and annual basis
