Pastoral Support Officer job summary
Wittering Primary School is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to play a vital role in supporting the pastoral provision across the school and wider school community, with a particular focus on safeguarding and child protection matters, provision of pastoral support and attendance.
Working hours are 25 hours per week, 5 hour per day, Monday to Friday.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting with safeguarding and child protection matters
- Acting as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the School
- Acting as a member of the school’s Early Help Team
- Liaising with external agencies and representing the school at attendance, safeguarding and family support meetings as required
- Providing bespoke educational and pastoral support to small groups and individual children requiring additional support
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting on pupil attendance, identifying concerns and implementing early intervention strategies
The successful candidate:
- Has excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Communicates confidently and sensitively with children, families and professionals
- Can build positive relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Can work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
- Is confident using digital systems and maintaining accurate records
- Has experience of working within a school environment, ideally in a safeguarding or pastoral role
- Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
