What skills and experience we're looking for

Westminster Academy has a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to play a vital role by organising and delivering interventions to improve the welfare, behaviour and pastoral care of students, ensuring interventions are recorded, monitored and impact is evaluated. The post holder will promote a Trauma-informed approach when interacting with students, staff and parents. They may be asked to manage and look into behaviour and pastoral incidents in depth and report to relevant senior members of staff. The post holder will also assist in managing, leading, and developing systems and procedures to enhance standards of achievement, behaviour, and personal development for all pupils in the attached year group.

  • Has experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or social care setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
  • Is calm under pressure, solution-focused, and able to manage sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Understands safeguarding principles and the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Works well as part of a team and can collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
  • Is passionate about inclusion, equity, and helping every student reach their full potential.
