Rodillian Academy seeks to appoint a Pastoral Support Worker to join our highly effective, dedicated team. The suitable candidate will have relevant experience of working with students to promote good behaviour and consistent attendance. You will have a sound understanding of how to promote a growth mind-set in our students to help them become resilient learners who realise their full potential through the application of our dynamic Positive Discipline Policy.
If you are considering a route into teaching, this is a perfect way to gain experience. With the appropriate qualifications, you could then go on to apply to train to teach with us on our exciting 1-year programme in partnership with both Exchange Teacher Training and Gorse SCITT.
At Resilience Multi Academy Trust, we are committed to doing things differently - creating schools that students want to attend, and where colleagues want to work. We raise aspiration levels for staff, students and schools by encouraging creativity in the classroom, and by giving our staff freedom to experiment with their teaching, as part of our pioneering curriculum. All of this is guided by our Positive Discipline policy - a traditional approach to behaviour management.
In return, you will enjoy access to high quality CPD. You will also be joining a happy Trust where 95% of colleagues agreed that they enjoy working here and 92% would recommend us to a friend or colleague (taken from our staff wellbeing survey). Our commitment to staff wellbeing means we prioritise staff mental health, drive down unnecessary workloads and support our colleagues to progress in their careers.
This role provides a real opportunity for you to make your mark, and as a growing Trust with an excellent reputation, there are always opportunities for career development.
Prospective candidates are welcome to visit the Academy. Please contact Rebecca Farthing, PA to the Principal at: rfarthing@rodillianacademy.co.uk to arrange.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service and other statutory checks

We are an inspiring place to learn, with high aspirations for each of our young people. We aim to secure outstanding examination results for all our young people, providing innovative intervention and mentoring support, to remove any obstacles in their way. Every member of staff is fully committed to working relentlessly to achieve this. Moreover, we motivate our young people, through our academy culture, to aspire to the very best for themselves too. We strive to develop a growth mindset in each of our young people – a belief that intelligence is not fixed or inherited but can be improved if we learn from our mistakes and continually try hard.
We are a happy and well run organisation, where students feel confident to strive and develop. It is an academy where engaging, stimulating and appropriate learning takes place so that every student can achieve their true potential.
We work closely with home and these partnerships wholeheartedly support the development of our young people into successful and ambitious young adults. That said, we are not complacent and continue to strive to make improvements, big or small, in all facets of academy life, to make our organisation a truly outstanding one.
At Rodillian we believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness to staff and this has made for a harmonious and safe learning environment for our young people and a supportive environment for staff, where they can concentrate their efforts on teaching and their own continuing professional development. Our school is also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Though we may be traditional in our approach to discipline, our curriculum is as modern, innovative and personalised as we can make it.
