What skills and experience we're looking for
Poplar Farm is a new school which opened in September 2018. We are a warm, caring, inclusive and vibrant school where pupils are at the heart of every decision we make. Poplar Farm pupils are happy and confident, they are problem solvers, open minded, resilient and motivated to learn. We have a generous school site, with creative, bespoke learning areas both inside and outside.
The school is part of CIT (Community Inclusive Trust), a Multi Academy Trust comprising of special and mainstream primary schools across Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing nurture group support for children
- Motivating and encouraging pupils
- Supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural issues
- Providing support across a range of child centred activities to promote child development and learning
- Offering 1-1, paired and group sessions to children, depending on their needs
- Signposting children and families to appropriate services and support outside of school where needed
- Supporting vulnerable children at lunchtime through a bespoke club
