We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated Pastoral Welfare Leader to join our specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Barnsley. This is a crucial role where you will champion the well-being and pastoral care of our incredible students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As the Pastoral Welfare Leader, you will:
Lead and manage the school's pastoral support team and coordinate the daily provision of welfare services.
Develop, implement, and review effective pastoral strategies and interventions that promote positive behaviour, attendance, and emotional resilience for students with complex SEMH needs.
Provide direct support to students, including one-to-one mentoring, therapeutic group work, and crisis intervention.
Liaise closely with parents/carers, external agencies (e.g., CAMHS, Social Services), and teaching staff to create holistic, joined-up support plans.
Monitor student well-being and track the impact of pastoral interventions, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on progress and areas for development.
Has proven experience in a pastoral, welfare, or safeguarding leadership role, ideally within an SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision setting.
Possesses a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people with SEMH needs and effective strategies to support them.
Is an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families, often in challenging circumstances.
Has a robust knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practice
Is resilient, calm, and empathetic, with the ability to manage stressful situations and maintain professional boundaries.
MUST be educated with GCSE Maths & English, NVQ L3 or equivalent
