Pastoral Year Officer (Fixed Term Maternity Cover) job summary

The Wilnecote School is part of The Community Academies Trust which is a successful, forward-thinking organisation which maintains high expectations of staff and students.

We are seeking a Pastoral Year Officer who will be a key part of our Pastoral Support team on a fixed term basis for 1 year to cover maternity leave. You will work directly with students on a day-to-day basis, under the direction of the Pastoral Team Leader and Senior staff, you will co-ordinate the support provision for students who need help in overcoming barriers to learning and developing their potential by raising standards of behaviour for learning.

The successful candidate will have high expectations, a commitment to raising standards of attainment and up-to-date knowledge of teaching and behaviour management strategies. We are seeking passionate and driven individuals with good communication and organisational skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our students and their communities.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good standard of education i.e. minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A*- C including English and Maths and have the ability and confidence to use ICT including SIMS. Experience of working with children and/or students is desirable and at interview, you will be able to clearly display an affinity to the pastoral care of students in school.

Successful applicants will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to liaise effectively with a wide range of people including parents, teachers, students and support staff.
