What skills and experience we're looking for
At Bankside, we firmly believe PE is a core subject. We recognise the benefits of high quality PE and Sport and the impact this has on our pupils’ development, health, self-confidence and wider curriculum progress.
A rare and unique opportunity has arisen for a PE and Sports Coach who can build upon and evolve the provision that is already established at our school. We are looking for an individual with the ability to bring new ideas and be an ambassador and role model for PE and Sport. This role will involve delivering PE/Sports sessions as part of the school’s PPA offer across school (Reception to Year 6) as well as leading on the school’s wider PE and Sport offer including before/after school club provision and competitive/enrichment events.
What the school offers its staff
We have a talented staff team and are committed to providing a high quality offer of CPD for all staff. Our staff work collaboratively and we carefully plan our teacher’s PPA so they can be released together to promote this approach. We warmly welcome potential applicants to book a tour of the school with the headteacher/Leadership Team to come and see us in action! Contact the office (0113 336 8383) to arrange a suitable slot.
Further details about the role
We aim to offer a broad and balanced curriculum and as a school value enrichment experiences as part of our wider curriculum offer. We are looking for someone who is confident and has the communication and professional skills to build partnerships with community providers and who can work with us to provide unique opportunities to our pupils and inspire a love of sport.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
At Bankside, we are passionate about celebrating the diversity of our children, families and staff community. We value the experience and contributions of people from all walks of life.
