PE Teacher job summary

Our experienced Head teacher and her supportive senior leadership team are seeking to appoint a PE teacher to teach PE across the school, covering class teachers' PPA time. We are looking for a teacher, who is a specialist in PE, to be able to teach PE skills across year groups 3 - 6. This role is suitable for both qualified teachers or unqualified teachers or sports coaches. For unqualified teachers or sports coaches, we can support you to gain QTS or complete teacher training in the future, if this matches your career aspirations. The successful applicant will also work closely with our Academy Head of PE to support them in curriculum design, assessment, managing the national Sorts Premium funding, and in becoming a leader of PE within the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To teach PE to all designated classes, including all aspects of planning and assessment.
  • To lead PE across the school and raise the profile and quality of physical education within the school and community.
  • To use sport to develop and mentor young people in a positive way, including organising extra-curricular events and clubs.
