The role
We are seeking a committed and passionate Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across your subject area. You will play a key role in ensuring students experience a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum, enabling them to make strong progress and achieve their best.
You will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing effective lessons, while contributing to the wider life of the academy and supporting whole-school improvement priorities.
Key responsibilities
Teaching, learning and curriculum delivery
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Set clear learning objectives and use these to plan effective sequences of learning
Deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum
Create a positive, purposeful classroom environment where students feel safe and supported
Use a range of teaching strategies to engage and motivate learners
Use ICT effectively to enhance teaching and learning, including remote delivery where required
Set meaningful homework to consolidate and extend learning
Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with academy expectations
Assessment and progress
Assess students’ progress accurately and use this to inform planning
Provide clear, timely and constructive feedback to support improvement
Track and monitor student progress using academy systems
Identify students who require additional support or intervention
Support students in reflecting on and improving their own learning
Contribute to reporting on student progress to parents and carers
Planning and professional responsibilities
Produce effective short and long-term planning in line with academy policy
Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
Support the Head of Department with improvement priorities
Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to enhance learning
Participate in CPD, training and appraisal processes
Attend staff meetings, parents’ evenings and school events as required
Promote the ethos, values and vision of the academy at all times
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher preferably female), who is committed to making a difference.
You will:
Hold a relevant degree in your subject area
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be eligible to work in the UK
Have experience of teaching in a secondary school setting
Be able to teach up to Key Stage 4 (KS5 desirable where relevant)
Have strong subject and curriculum knowledge
Be confident in classroom management and student engagement
Be committed to high standards, inclusion and equal opportunities
Be a reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development
