People Advisor job summary

25 hours per week, Term Time + 2 weeks, ideally Monday to Friday

The People Advisor role at Greenwood Academies Trust presents a fantastic opportunity to join our team. You’ll mainly support our East Coast Academies, which consist of one secondary and six primary schools. Your contribution will be key to the effective operation of our People Directorate, ensuring our service runs smoothly and positively impacts the Trust.

This is a home-based role, but does require travel for in-person meetings, support and site visits, enabling your time to be split between:

- Managing an employee relations caseload, on matters such as absence, conduct, capability, pay and grievances, with responsibility for ensuring case documentation is complaint with policy and employment law.

- Advising and supporting line managers, including delivery of L&D initiatives.

- Project/policy development focused tasks including organisational change, process improvements and customer experience initiatives.

About You:

An experienced HR practitioner, ideally gained within an education and/or union environment, with a proven track record of managing employee relations cases to a successful resolution.

As an integral member of our team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Preferably CIPD Level 5 (or working towards), you will have strong knowledge of Microsoft packages and be familiar with HR systems to utilise our people metric data to inform service delivery and offering alternative perspective to help drive improvements.

This is a true generalist HR position and will suit a strong customer focused individual, with excellent communication skills and who is comfortable with change and turning ideas into action.
